“ Chukfo Taipan is a very famous BBQ spot in Wan Chai. In fact, it is one of top rank spot all the time. There is always line up outside. We ordered BBQ pork with 2 eggs on rice, and roasted goose and soy chicken on rice. The cha siu is cut in thin slices, but we saw the cha siu is cut in thick slice on the other table. Maybe it depends on the chef. Roasted goose and soy chicken are both very tasty. Price range is between $60-$80 per person for lunch. Overall, highly recommended! ”

“ First time visiting this place and I came mainly for the BBQ pork after seeing so many good reviews. The BBQ pork itself was tasty, but personally I found it a bit too fatty – if it had been leaner, I would’ve gone crazy for it. The crispy pork, on the other hand, was below average in my opinion. The skin just wasn’t crispy, which was disappointing. The soy sauce chicken was much better and definitely enjoyable. Overall, a mixed experience with some hits and some misses. ”
“ Went there around 3pm. Ordered the tea time set. Roast Goose and Char Siew/Roast Pork for HK$49 each and soup HK$6. Goose skin was crispy, meat tender. Roast pork had crackling skin and fat practically melts in the mouth. One of the best I’ve tried and reasonable prices too. Will visit again. ”
“ Absolutely insane. Not everyone has a good experience here, but as far as I can gather those complaints are almost always when they order goose as part of rice or set. That's obviously not the right thing to do, obviously you should always order the lower quarter, otherwise they give you the breast or some nonsense cut. Anyway, this was excellent. It's more a sweet style, and it's so tender and fatty. The skin isn't particularly crispy, but it's thin and still very delicious. The sauce from the roast goose is sublime, the aroma is so powerful and complex Char siew is yet another stunner. Again, from the pics, some people are not specifying the cut and they get some nonsense lean cuts. You always ask for "半肥瘦 banfeishou” which means half fat half meat, and look at the excellent marbling of the char siew. It's half melt in your mouth tender, and half bouncy bite from the meat. It's really stunning, and apart from the crisp(there's bits and pieces) that was a little lacking, the texture of the meat itself is perfection. They use a very high quality pork Soup is fine, flavour is decent but lacks a bit of thickness This is still a hidden gem, only locals and no tourists yet. Because of that, the prices are still very reasonable for the excellent quality. Must try. I hardly give out 5 stars, and definitely request the cuts to your heart's content, otherwise you can only blame yourself for the lack of quality ”
